My love for the bulldog breed started back in the 1950’s with my parent’s love of the Bulldog. Their second bulldog, Bonzo, joined the family in the early 1960’s. Bonzo is the bulldog that I grew up with. Recently I asked my dad where he found that boy. He replied “The Panhandle”. He recalled the price being $25.00. Growing up with an English bulldog must have been an unusual pet back then because the neighborhood kids use to tease Bonzo through the fence. In fact, Bonzo sought revenge on one of those kids, but that’s another story. Other bulldogs came and went as the years went by. When I was in my twenties, I bought a bulldog for my dad. Again time came and went just like the bulldogs did.

In the mid 1980’s I worked at an animal clinic as an animal technician for four years. During my time at the clinic, I learned a great deal about different breeds of animals. While working at the clinic I learned more about the English bulldog breed. My first bulldog, Radar, was bought in the mid 1980’s. Mom and I made a trip from Houston, Texas to Birmingham, Alabama. I wanted a solid white male like the one I grew up with.

I started raising A.K.C. (American Kennel Club) English bulldogs in the mid 1990’s. Our first litter was eleven puppies. We were all surprised at the number. Most average litters are not more than nine puppies, since they are born by c-section. I always tell people I have been around this breed of dog for over fifty years now. I have personally owned them for over twenty-seven years. For me, home is always having a bulldog to share it with.

All of our bulldogs are registered with the American Kennel Club. We breed for the A.K.C. standard of short bodies, short nose, broad chest, short legs, and heavy wrinkles to name a few. We have standard colors and we are adding some of the rare colors to our family, black seal.
